Milham Park Municipal Golf Course opened in 1945.
Milham Park Golf Course is a challenging 18-hole, par 72 layout located on 130 acres adjacent to beautiful Milham Park on the South side of Kalamazoo. Facilities include a large award-winning pro shop, snack bar, power golf carts, and practice facilities. Most of the fast greens are slightly sloped and average-sized.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,540 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,155 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 527 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 13, a par-3 that plays to 129 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 443 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Milham is # 13, a 129 yard par-3.

Nice Muni course. Great value. You can pay a lot more and not get this quality golf. Recent staff changes have been a benefit. 2010 was a bad year due to equipment and staff failures. 2011 is looking to be much better. Course is busy since this is city-owned and inexpensive. Lots of school teams both H.S. and young golfers from the several colleges. Avoid mid to late afternoons when the school teams are out for practice and occasional competition. Phone and ask for the best times to play. Professional staff is very helpful.

Milham has always been one of the best municipal courses in southwest Michigan. It has a wide variety of challenges, but there is always a fair way (no pun intended) to approach a hole. The greens are always extremely well maintained (and extremely fast). The course is very walkable, which is nice.

Traveling on I-94 through this area and found this 18 hole Public course designed by Kalamazoo's city engineer and built in the 1930's. Located just off the highway makes for easy access while traveling in this area. With five (5) tee boxes you can play from 6,711yds / 73.1 down to 4,038yds / 64.7 on this Par 37/35 layout. I only had time to play the Front 9 from the 3,366yd Blues/Tips being a Par 37......but that was ok. Starting #1 490yd dogleg right Par 5 and #2 405yd dog right, got things warmed up quickly. Scattered trees frame the narrow mowed fairways with good positioned sand traps, add problems for errant shots. The rough was thick and sticky in the first 6'-10' off the fairway and played tough. The gentle rolling layout offered a nice breakup in the mostly slight dogleg hole layouts. Medium sized/shaped greens were well protected by sand traps on both sized and putted fast (9) and true. Finishing holes were reverse of #1 & #2 being #8 423yd Par 4 and #9 480yd Par 5 and played tough. With the great selection of yardage's, one can make it suit anyones game or challenge. Enjoyed the 1hr 45minute riding $18 round and shooting 40 w/16 putts on this well manicured course. Will stop back in to play 18 w/cart for $32 in the future and you should too.
